Mindscape is a 2D exploration and puzzle solving game where the player plays as an anthropomorphic neuron wandering a troubled mind. The player walks around the halls of the mind looking for bad memories that they can enter and repair through a series of mini games. Once 3 memories are fixed, the player wins. I played a large part in planning the gameplay, levels, character, and environment as well as doing most of the programming and all of the art in the game.

I worked in the art department on UC Santa Cruz's Game Development and Art Collaboration club, where I helped create assets for an game called Malisense. The game is set in a sense-deprived world, one in which the Malignance took over. Most people, loved ones, women, children, were reduced to single-sensing beasts. You, The Disgraced, are told you’re special and given a promise: remove artifacts from the dungeons, where the Malignance is thickest and sense, sanity, and perception will be restored. Do this, and maybe you can be forgiven for your sins.

OCSA MINECRAFT
OCSA Minecraft is a project that I worked on for about 2 weeks during lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic where I rebuilt my high school (Orange County School of the Arts) campus in Minecraft. I recruited a childhood friend who had never been to the campus to help me build it and we completed the project in around a week. I spent the next week setting up a server to host it on in order for people to join the world and walk around to see it for themselves. I posted it to my personal Instagram account and it received nearly 900 likes and was reposted by the school's various official social media accounts, gaining thousands more impressions.
ENTOMOFLEXANIMA
ENTOMOFLEXANIMA is an art project and playable experience that I designed with two classmates for a game design class final project in around 4 weeks. It was a bug themed party/rave as part of our classwide "playfaire" at the end of the quarter. The playfaire was a public event showcasing the playable experiences designed by the students in the class and we chose to make a scavenger hunt style exclusive event, where only bugs are allowed in. In order to get into the bug rave, players had to become a bug by receiving clues that led them to playing and winning other projects games, granting them collectible bug part cards (pictured below). Once players collected all 3 bug part cards, they would be transformed into a bug (they received a custom bug mask), and they were allowed into the bug rave. Inside of our hand-sewn bug-themed tent, there was a real DJ and insect themed decorations.
I volunteered to work around 24 hours over 4 days with a team to paint a public 24 ft by 12 ft mural in The Source mall in Buena Park, California, depicting a plethora of elements from Korean culture. The subject is a girl sitting at a bus stop, with Korean posters, pine trees, mountains, cranes, and traditional architecture. A QR code on the bus stop links to an essay celebrating Korean culture.
Photo Collage Apartment Building
I built a box in the UCSC woodshop and used collage to present photographs of people that I know, representing their lives and spaces by showcasing their personal styles (clothing, poses, what belongings are important to them, what items they use the most in their lives.) Each floor represents a different person in my life.
